Frequently asked
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and rewritten entirely inside your browser tab. Nothing is transmitted, which is also why the tool keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Does my original file change?
No. A new PDF is built and offered as a download; the file on your disk stays exactly as it was.
Does cropping actually delete content, or just hide it?
It resizes the page itself, so every viewer, printer and downstream tool will only ever see the cropped area — this is the same non-destructive approach every standard PDF cropper uses, and it is why text stays selectable and images stay full quality.
What is the difference between percent and mm/inch/points?
Percent margins are worked out from each page's own width and height, so a mixed-size document stays proportional. Millimetre, inch and point margins are a fixed amount applied the same way to every page, which is what you want for trimming an identical printed border.
Can I crop only some pages and leave the rest untouched?
Yes. Switch "Apply to" to Selected only and tap the pages that should be cropped — everything else keeps its original size.
Can each selected page have a different crop?
Yes. In "Selected only" mode, whichever page is shown in the crop preview gets its own crop box — switch pages and adjust each one separately, or use "Copy to other selected pages" to reuse one crop everywhere else.
What about bookmarks, links and form fields?
They are kept as they were. If a link or a form field sat inside an area you cropped away, it will no longer be visible on that page, but the rest of the document is unaffected.
Can it edit password-protected PDFs?
You can open one and view the preview by entering the password, but a file with real encryption usually cannot be rewritten here. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then come back. A PDF that only restricts printing or copying will edit normally.
Some of my pages are rotated — will the crop look right?
Margins are measured against the page as pdf.js renders it. Most documents are fine, but if a page has an unusual rotation the crop box may not line up the way you expect — straighten the page first if that happens.
